Weavers’ Hall
Queen’s University Belfast commissioned Weavers’ Hall as purpose-built student accommodation on Dublin Road, on a site historically occupied by linen weaving works, a heritage the building’s name directly acknowledges. Opening in September 2026, the sixteen-storey building delivers 459 beds across en-suite cluster apartments and self-contained studios, with communal study spaces, a coffee bar, cinema room and outdoor social spaces. The Passivhaus fabric combines an airtight envelope, triple glazing, MVHR ventilation and air-source heat pumps on full renewable energy, sustaining consistent temperatures and high indoor air quality year-round.
The largest certified Passivhaus building on the island of Ireland and the first of its kind in Belfast, Weavers’ Hall sets a new standard for sustainable student living. Mosart are Passivhaus certifiers for the project.
