Why it matters

Most people learn the rules. You'll learn the physics the rules come from.

Compliance follows a checklist. Performance comes from understanding why the checklist works, so you can judge a borderline detail, defend it in a design review, and design with certainty instead of hope. It is what gets you specified, and asked back.

Why this course

Filmed on real building sites.

The detail graduates single out most is the on-site footage: Tomás walking a real window installation, a real airtightness layer, a real thermal bridge. You learn how the standard actually gets built, not only how it reads on a drawing, the one thing a slide deck can never teach.

It comes from over 30 years of designing and certifying Passivhaus buildings, from one-off homes to a 26-storey tower. Every lesson is grounded in a real, delivered project.

Real sites, real detailsWindow installs, airtightness layers and thermal bridges, shown exactly where they get built.
Every building type, not just housesFrom your own home to high-rise. The physics is the same; we show it across all of them.
Why this course, not another

There are other Passivhaus courses. Here is why people choose this one.

  • Taught by a trainer working from slides
  • Generic diagrams and stock examples
  • In-person blocks, with travel and time off site
  • One-off houses, and not much else

  • Software access expires when the course ends
  • A set of recordings, then goodbye

What changes for you

Building science is a superpower.

Read any building like an open book

Look at a wall build-up and see immediately where it will fail, thermally, structurally, from moisture. No guesswork, no hoping for the best on site.

Become the go-to for performance

Colleagues start pulling you into design reviews. Clients ask for you by name. You are the person the team turns to when performance has to be right.

Apply it to any project, immediately

New-build apartments, deep retrofits, social housing, one-off homes. The physics is universal, and you start using it from day one.

Model real performance, not compliance

Run a full PHPP energy balance, test design options, and predict how a building will perform in use, rather than ticking a checklist and hoping.

Who it's for

Built for professionals who can't stop working to go back to studying.

Architects & building designers

Understand the physics behind every decision you make. Lead Passivhaus projects with confidence and win the work that increasingly specifies it.

Engineers & consultants

Cover the full envelope, MVHR, renewables and thermal bridging, and finish knowing how to model real performance to certification level.

Developers & project managers

You don't need to become a certifier. Knowing what certification demands means you brief teams better, catch problems earlier, and protect asset value.

From our graduates

They studied it. Then they built it.

Brandon Clemenson
Architectural Designer, Stanley Bragg Architects (UK)

Delivered a bio-based Passivhaus Plus home using EcoCocon wall panels for a young family in the UK.

"Mosart's real-world approach gave me the confidence to deliver our first Passivhaus project, a Passivhaus Plus home at that. The CPHD was essential to earning the client's trust and steering it to certification."
Henry McKinney
MCIOB, Director, Newtownstewart McKinney

Delivered the Moville Passivhaus project, balancing architectural ambition with certification-level performance.

"The CPHD transformed my approach. I developed practical PHPP skills to test design options and predict energy performance, and the emphasis on early design input reshaped how our whole team collaborates."

FAQ

Common questions.

I'm busy. How much time does this actually take?
Most people finish in around 12 weeks, studying 3 to 5 hours per week alongside a full-time job. You have 12 months of access, so you can fit it around the work. The on-demand format is the single thing graduates praise most.
How much does it cost?
The on-demand course is €1,795 (normally €1,995), or three payments of €665. A live webinar cohort is €2,880. One fee covers the PHPP software licence, PHI exam registration, 45 CPD points and 12 months of access.
Do I need an architecture or engineering degree?
No. The course is open to anyone with built-environment experience. Your qualification only affects the title you receive on passing: a relevant degree earns the title Certified Passivhaus Designer, without one you receive Certified Passivhaus Consultant. Same exam, same professional standing.
Is it relevant in the UK?
Yes. The course is taught with UK and Irish projects and regulation in mind, and most of our students are UK-based. The PHI credential is internationally recognised, and CPD points count toward RIBA, RIAI, PHI and other professional-body requirements across the UK and Ireland.
Is this just for houses?
No. Case studies cover one-off homes, social housing at scale (Shanganagh Castle, 550+ homes), a 26-storey tower in Manhattan, New York, offices, university buildings and leisure centres. If you work on large commercial or high-rise projects, you will not feel shortchanged.
How hard is the exam, and what if I don't pass?
The PHI exam is a genuine professional exam, but our pass rate is 98%. You get mock papers with written feedback, a revision focus and a tech-setup session beforehand, and you can re-sit if you ever need to.
What happens after I'm certified?
You keep your PHPP licence, retain lifetime access to the graduate community, and can bring questions to the monthly live sessions. Certification renews every five years, typically through the Passivhaus projects you go on to deliver.
I'm outside the UK and Ireland. Can I still enrol?
Yes. The course is fully online and open to professionals worldwide. Billing is in EUR.
