Urbanest Battersea is a landmark mixed-use development providing 853 student bedspaces across three interconnected buildings in London’s Nine Elms, opposite the Battersea Power Station regeneration zone. Completed in 2024 and certified by the Passivhaus Institute, the development holds the distinction of being the largest certified Passivhaus building in the UK and the largest Passivhaus student accommodation scheme in Europe.

Mosart acted as co-Passivhaus designer, working alongside the project team to support delivery of the standard at a scale and complexity that broke new ground for the sector.
The scheme demonstrates that Passivhaus performance is achievable in high-rise, high-density urban development, setting a precedent for future large-scale student accommodation in the UK and beyond.
